Selection Criteria
The admission in IME graduate courses is conducted by the Graduate Teaching Sub-Division (SD/1). Detailed information can be found on the website http://www.ime.eb.mil.br/en/admission-process.html
Candidates are evaluated by a Candidate Evaluation Committee nominated by the PGEE-IME Graduate Council of Teachers (CPPG).
Evaluation of the applicant's documents is based on the analysis of the following requirements:
- Curriculum vitae
- Undergraduate academic transcript
- Academic references
- Proposal for study
Evaluation of the Curriculum Vitae is carried out by analyzing the following items:
- Undergraduate course
- Other completed courses
- Professional and academic experience
- Publications
- English proficiency
Evaluation of the undergraduate academic transcript is carried out by analyzing the following aspects:
- CR (academic performance)
- Grade or concept in courses considered relevant for the Master in the selected research line
- Experience in Scientific Initiation
Evaluation of academic references is based on consideration of the following aspects:
- Adviser's experience with graduate activities
- Conditions under which the candidate was observed
- Adviser's opinion on the candidate's potential for advanced studies
Evaluation of the Proposal of Study is carried out by analyzing the following aspects:
- Motivation- Chaining of ideas and quality of argumentation
- Consistency with the selected course and with the chosen research line
Based on the evaluation of the above items, the Evaluation Committee will assign the candidate a global grade in scale from 0 (zero) to 5 (five), with a minimum grade of 3 (three) required for the candidate to be recommended without restriction.
