Selection Criteria

Civilian Candidates

Candidates will be evaluated in three different stages:

a) seminar (weight 2),
b) interview (weight 1),
c) curriculum analysis and school history (weight 2).

The seminar will consist of a presentation of 20 minutes referring to the work developed in the master's, and the student's capacity for argument will be evaluated by  the examining board. The final classification of the student will be determined by the final grade, which will be the average of the three items mentioned above. Candidates who obtain an average of five or more (5.0) at the end of the three distinct stages of evaluation will be approved;

Military Candidates

As the case may be, the Brazilian Head of Defense or The Department of Science and Technology are responsible for the process of selecting Military candidates. 

The qualifying-phase comprises medical examination, an academic selection, and an administrative selection, all with eliminatory characteristics.Military candidates must apply to the Department of Science and Technology. Deferred applications will be sent to IME for enrollment and academic selection.
